“This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere;
the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.”
- John Muir
From the banks of Loch Lomond to the Hebrides Islands, the rugged beauty of this northern landscape has inspired poets and artists for thousands of years.
Explore ancient castles, fairy pools and geographic anomalies including the Quiraing, with its distinctive rock formations. Experience sunrise alongside the legendary Old Man of Storr, part of the stunning Trotternish landslip. A unique opportunity to expand your world.
For one week, an intentionally small group of humans will come together to learn of the landscapes that have mesmerized so many.
Join us on this journey through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world.
Day 1 (Oct. 18):
Welcome to Scotland! We will meet in the morning at the Edinburgh airport and spend the day driving through the Scottish countryside to our first lodge, stopping to photograph along the way. We will have introductions, discuss plans over dinner, relax and prepare for the morning sunrise shoot.
Day 2 (Oct. 19):
We will head out early to shoot sunrise at Kilchurn Castle. After sunrise we’ll get back on the road and continue our journey to our base camp for the next 4 nights in Portree on the magnificent Isle of Skye. Sunset will be on Brother’s Point.
Day 3 (Oct. 20):
We’ll start the day early as we need to hike a short ways to a legendary viewpoint across the Quiraing range. This day will also include a trip to the enchanted Fairy Pools and sunset at the Neist Point Lighthouse.
Day 4 (Oct. 21):
Another early sunrise to make the short one hour hike up to the iconic Old Man of Storr. We will take in the sunset at the rocky beaches of Elgol.
Day 5 (Oct. 22):
A second visit to Quiraing for sunrise will have us busy early. A visit to the incredible waterfall, dropping into the sea, and coastline of Kilt Rock in the afternoon. Sunset will be spent at Glen Sligachan.
Day 6 (Oct. 23):
We will leave Portree and head to the beautiful wilderness of Glencoe. After touring the historic castle, we will take in sunset at the Eilean Donan.
Day 7 (Oct. 24):
We will wake up early to make our way to Glen Finnan Viaduct to catch the steam train crossing the stone arch bridge spanning the valley below. After sunrise we’ll make our way back to Edinburgh to check into our hotel and spend the evening in and around town.
Day 8 (Oct. 25):
We say goodbye to Scotland and depart for home!
